Job description

Focused on innovation and commitment to the experience of its consumers, a company in constant evolution in the retail segment, is looking for a new Legal and Compliance Director. This strategic position aims to ensure efficient and integrated management of legal and compliance operations, in alignment with the company’s growth and expansion objectives.

As number one in the area, you will have the challenge of leading and structuring good compliance practices, as well as managing all of the organization’s legal activities in both the advisory and litigation areas. Your role will be essential to ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risks and implement projects that promote corporate governance.

Main responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement compliance policies aligned with the company’s strategic objectives;

  • Manage the legal aspects of the company, including contracts, processes and legal advice;

  • Implement and supervise corporate governance, risk mitigation and internal audit programs;

  • Act as a point of contact for external audits and inspections, ensuring transparency in operations;

  • Provide regular reports to senior management and the board on the status of the company’s compliance and risks;

  • Provide guidance on legislative, regulatory and contractual interpretation, in different areas of law, aiming at the correct treatment of risks, increased competitiveness and the prevention of liabilities in new contracts;

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the effective application of compliance practices and processes across all operations and projects;

  • Conduct detailed legal risk analyses, including assessing the impact of regulatory and legislative changes on retail operations, and develop internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance and reduce potential liabilities.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in leadership positions in the compliance and legal areas;

  • Solid knowledge of legislation applied to the retail sector and corporate compliance;

  • Expertise in corporate governance and risk mitigation projects.
