Job description

Brazil is the leading country in revenue in the Latin American games market and one of the top 15 in the world. For this reason, a global company that develops multiplatform and multiplayer games invests in expanding its operations in the country with a new studio in the Brazilian capital.

As Game Engineering Head, your main objective will be to lead a multidisciplinary team in the development and optimization of games for mobile and other platforms in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Act decisively in projects regarding architecture, design, mechanics, metagame logic and economics.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage features throughout the development process, from initial design to on going support;
  • Develop cross-platform multiplayer games that are reusable and maintainable;
  • Support the design team by offering feedback, suggestions for improvements and prototypes that guarantee a high level of quality for the features and, consequently, the best experience for players;
  • Work together with producers, artists and other engineers, implementing large-scale systems and tools in order to realize the vision of the game;
  • Integrate third-party SDKs to meet various business needs;
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks by setting OKRs for the department;
  • Assist directors and producers in estimating work, making effective tool choices and process improvements, and proactively identifying and mitigating project risks;
  • Search for potential R&D technologies that can positively impact team performance;
  • Guiding junior engineers and developers to develop their skills and maximize the quality of their work on each project, being primarily responsible for their review.

Requirements:

  • Background in digital game programming;
  • Solid knowledge in object-oriented programming, design patterns, Unity and C#;
  • Experience with multiplayer games, CI/CD platforms, Git and AAA releases;
  • Advanced English desirable.
